Polish, Gel or Extensions: Choosing Your Nail Service

Nail menus can read like a glossary. Here is what each service at SHAY actually is.

Polish and Gel Colour

Dazzle Dry is a polish finish, included with our manicure and pedicure, with a natural finish available if you prefer. Luxio by Akzentz is gel colour: a glossy, long-wearing finish applied after nail preparation and cuticle work.

Support and Length

A structured gel overlay supports and shapes your natural nails without adding length. Sculpted gel extensions do add length, sculpted by hand in short, medium or long. Once either is on, infills maintain and rebalance it as your nails grow.

Strengthening

IBX is a separate professional strengthening treatment for natural nails. It is not a colour or an overlay, and it can be booked on its own or as an add-on to a manicure or gel service.

Choosing

If you want colour that lasts, start with gel colour. If your nails need support, ask about an overlay. If you want length, choose extensions. If you are not sure, we will look at your natural nails and suggest a service. Whichever you choose, removal should be done professionally rather than by peeling or picking.
